To complement these exceptional wines, we’ll have a selection of thoughtfully paired small plates and snacks available for purchase throughout the evening, chosen to highlight the tasting notes of each pour.

Wunderkammer Bier Tasting

Wunderkammer Bier Tasting

This coming Saturday, 4/4, we are more than honored to host Vasilios Gletsos of Wunderkammer Bier at the shop for a special in-store tasting.

Based in the Northeast Kingdom, Wunderkammer is more than a brewery—it is a study of the natural world. Vasilios creates small-batch beers that evoke a specific time and place. These are elegant, subtle expressions of Vermont’s agrarian roots, brewed with a deep respect for the land and unique brewing processes.

Come meet the maker, explore these liquid "curiosities," and honestly, some of the best beers out there.

Mother's Day "Party on the Porch"

It’s Mother’s Day weekend and we want to celebrate moms! We have invited a few friends to help us do so -

  • Branch & Thorn Farm - Renee & Dave will be selling bouquets, and flower CSA shares (makes the perfect Mother’s Day gift if you are still searching for ideas)

  • Fat Sheep Farm - Suzy will be sampling three of her farmstead cheeses, which will also be available for retail sale - NEW PRODUCT ALERT!

  • Vermont Wine Merchants - Anthony is a favorite, he makes wine fun and approachable to folks less familiar with wine but can also get into the nitty gritty nerdy detail for the connoisseurs. Wherever you land, he will have wine for you to taste and real great conversation to go along with it.

If the weather is warm enough, some of these folks will be set up on the deck. Either way, come celebrate mom!

Food Waste Prevention Day @ King Arthur Baking

PLEASE NOTE - the date of this event has changed to Sunday, April 7th*

Reducing food waste is a huge part of our identity at Butcher & Pantry, it is the basis for much of our business model (i.e. whole animal butchery, and multiple avenues for product in retail and foodservice). King Arthur Baking, Norwich VT, is hosting a Food Waste Prevention Week in April, and has invited us to partake. We are excited to bring more awareness to this issue and make a positive impact for our community. We will be posting up in the courtyard of the bakery, with our pizza truck - making pizzas that utilize commonly-thrown-away ingredients and serving up a pilot batch brew from Harpoon, which utilizes unsold bread from King Arthur Baking.

Ten percent of proceeds from this event will be donated to Vermont Fresh Network, a Vermont non-profit with the mission of “advancing relationships among farmers, chefs, and consumers to grow markets and eat more locally grown food.”

So come hang with us at King Arthur and make your positive impact!
